I think this actually makes a lot of sense and TOTALLY tracks with ted's characters! part of his mental health struggles these season tie into his own indpendence and desire to never want or need to accept help. How is this a 'relationship problem' that two people have separate jobs? I am always surprised when people say it made them feel warm and fuzzy inside, Ted Lasso actor and writer Brett Goldstein told Vanity Fair. There was plenty of darkness in the first season. So he's not with her posing for photos bcs that's not his thing, and he doesn't like it anyway. While Season 2 does deal with heavier material, this is not entirely new ground for the show. How on Earth doesn't anyone of them respond that it is okay if she's successful at her job and that he is also without her on the football field? When he's couching, she's not there. Brendan Hunt, Cristo Fernndez and Jason Sudeikis in Ted Lasso.' AppleTV+ 'Ted Lasso' season two opens with a bizarre and fatal sequence involving a crucial penalty kick and an elderly greyhound, which leaves one of AFC Richmond's star players, Dani Rojas, convinced that he has 'The Yips' an unrelenting sports curse. Roy says to the Diamond Dogs that Keeley looked great alone in the photos in the magazine. Keeley is supposed to be emotionally intelligent but somehow, she says the worst thing ever: "I can't go but you should go." Like what? Sending your significant other to a 6 week romantic vacation ALONE? Especially when they literally bought the trip for the two of you? Is she 11 years old all of a sudden? That's a pretty insulting and unrealistic suggestion to make to your partner. Keeley says "I can't go" and her only excuse is that she is starting her business? What happened to "Let's postpone the vacation because I need to start a business, let's go maybe next month"? Or maybe "Okay, but let's make it only a week or two weeks, bcs the timing is not great for me, I need to be back soon"? Or maybe "Okay, but I need at least a week to work and then we'll see if I can work from Mallorca, as you said it'd be possible"?. Seems a little long to me but maybe that's a rich people thing.
TED LASSO SEASON 2 SERIES
Those are the values of the series as a whole as well, and while the Trent Crimms of the world may keep hoping for some juicier drama to spice things up, Ted Lasso season 2 is doing just fine keeping its focus on internal conflicts and individual arcs.I liked season 2,especially its second half, but the ending with Roy and Keeley made no sense to me. Richmond gets their final chance to win promotion as Ted deals with the fallout of Trent Crimm’s painfully honest expos. In the show, Ted views success not in terms of wins and losses, but in terms of relationship building and personal development. But even now, in the middle of the season, there’s plenty of drama to keep viewers engaged. Jason Sudeikis has teased that season 2 may not exactly finish with a happy ending, suggesting there are bigger obstacles in store. Ted Lasso still needs conflict, but its conflict exists on that smaller scale. Those are still as compelling as ever in season 2, and while they may not be everyone’s cup of tea, they’re true to what the show has always been. It's a wrap on Season 2, as Ted leads his team through one last game, Roy and Keeley feel their way through some challenges, and Sam makes a decision.

But Ted Lasso is not made or broken by its big conflicts, but rather by the strength and nuance of its more subtle plotlines. As comforting as a buttery biscuit from a friend, Ted Lassos sophomore season is a feel-good triumph that plays into the shows strengths. It’s still to early to pass judgement on the whole season, good or bad, given that the show works with longer-term arcs. Hopefully, the rest of season 2 will continue some bigger conflicts, like AFC Richmond struggling to find adequate sponsorship in the face of financial struggles. Does Ted Lasso need conflict to be good? Yes, but that doesn’t mean it needs big fights, betrayals, and explicit villains.
